I was born in 1966, in the city of Lviv, the capital city of Western Ukraine.  Through its ancient walls and culture, the enchanted city of Lviv put a strong presence of passion and nostalgia inside of me.  It allowed my love for art to grow even more.  Since childhood, the world around me has always made a great impression on me.  Even till this day, I love to watch all the living things that surround me.  My unexpected desire to become an artist came to me when I was only 14 years old.  At first, my choice to become an artist was not supported by my close family.  At that time, I was the first in my family to pursue a career in art.

In 1981, I began attending Lviv College of Art & Design.  I graduated after four years with a degree in Art & Design.  In 1985, I was accepted into the Lviv Institute of Art where I went on to pursue another degree in Fashion Design.  The mixture of two separate degrees did not give me the ability to devote myself and work as creatively as I could.  In addition, my family, children, and immigration to the United States in 1992 took a lot of time away from my art.

We need time in order to fully understand ourselves and our true desires.  For a long period of time in my life, I did not get the opportunity to create art much.  I often caught myself painting in my thoughts and the scent of oil paints seemed to follow me everywhere.  In order to become a true artist, you have to grow your inner being to the point where it reflects on your artwork.  As the world turns, we all stride to put our marks into it.  Through my art, I wish to add my one piece to the master puzzle and make it a little more harmonious and beautiful for all of us.
